7/1/18 When we first walked into the Bertera showroom every staff member was busy with a client. However Dan Leary immediately made time for us. Dan brought my wife and I to the Forester we found on Bertera's website. Dan knew most of the history of the car even though it had been in the lot for a few months. Dan then introduced us to Rich Santoni who knew even more about the particular Forester we asked about. Rich answered our questions and he immediately set up a comparison test drive for us in both a 2015 Forester and a 2015 Outback. Rich left mid week on a well deserved vacation and introduced us to Joe Bucko over the phone to help with any further inquiries. Both Rich and Joe from the Sales team answered every question we asked with no hesitation. If they did not have the answer at hand, they found out within minutes. Ashley from the Finance Team helped us make the best choices based upon our needs as we described them to her. Ashley utilized her extensive history in her role to explain the pros and cons of each option we considered. This was the most relaxing experience I have ever had spending a large sum of money in less than 2 hours. (My relaxed demeanor was commented upon by one of the staff members.) A testament to our experience with the great people at Bertera Subaru.

I have been very happy with this car over the past year and 10,000 miles. It is surprisingly fun to drive...even more so in the winter with tires one can trust in ice and snow (OEM tires wouldn't stop the car on wintry road and I replaced them). Great city car and good interstate road trip car too, sometimes getting high 30s mpg at 70 mph. Engine always willing. Handling is great. I can load my bike in back without its front wheel, seats down, or a mower with the handle folded down. Infotainment center is bland, but I have a newer Honda where I find the same to be aggravating. The Impreza is quite low to the ground, so I need to consider that around snow berms and rutted roads; the Crosstrek is the answer to that, if you drive in rural and rougher roads. It is always a treat to get in the driver's seat and go for a spin.

In mid-November, 2015 I bought my 2015 Subaru Legacy with help from Gus (no longer w/Steve Lewis) and he was great - articulate and efficient. The tech person who helped me e.g. sync my phone etc. (Julie) was helpful too. The 1,000 mile "check-up" was uneventful. I had the 6,000 mile service conducted at about 5,800 miles b/c it was convenient to me; that was about three weeks ago. It was done quickly; and when I left the lot I felt all was good. I did however need follow-up help with two issues: (a) once my odometer reached 6,000 miles, when I turned on the car I was offered help to schedule my 6,000 mile service (which had been done); and, (b) my phone had become "unsynced" from the car. So, I called expecting it to be a hassle to figure things out. I was told to come over at my earliest convenience, which I did that day (afternoon of Friday, March 11). The guy at the service desk (sorry I didn't get his name) listened to my description of what I needed help with and summoned Benny Cruz who accompanied me to my car and in 15 minutes he had me on my way with everything "made right". I want to thank the Steve Lewis Subaru staff who fielded my call and emphasized they wanted to fix my problems ASAP, the gentleman at the desk who listened carefully to my "problems" and then summoned the aforementioned Mr. Cruz who was quick, very competent and polite. I went in looking for a cargo van that would pull my trailer they were super helpful by explaining the 150 250 and 350 vans ability to tow, made my buying easy, very helpful, if you're worried about dependability, don't, they offer bumper to bumper extended warranty so you'll have no worries, in my search for Vans this place was the only place I felt was out for the customer and not for themselves, they didn't care if they sold me a vehicle or not he wanted to be sure that I was going to be happy with my purchase, too bad I can only give them a 5-star rating, very knowledgeable of their large inventory, I sent one person who bought a vehicle and I will continue to send people to them, thanks Tom for your help and honesty in making it easy and worry free to own a used vehicle. Bought a 2007 Forester from Vernon Auto in September. It was no pressure purchase. Al let me take my time making the decision. The AC compressor was shot and it was replaced before pick-up. About 3 weeks after taking delivery one of the transmission cooler lines blew. The car was towed back to Vernon Auto. They fixed the line without any questions at no charge. Since then I have periodically taken the Forester (and my other cars) to them for service. They have been fair and provide good service. It was a high mileage vehicle when we bought at about 160,000. It's needed few things here and there, but we have put about 50,000 miles on it over the past 27 months -- with just a few reports. My only complaint about the Forester purchase was the car had not been cleaned very well before pick-up. When I'm in the market for another car I'll be giving Vernon Auto a chance to earn repeat business.

This is my second vehicle purchased from Vroom in the last 12 months, and I can't imagine ever buying a used car from a brick-and-mortar dealership again. Vroom offers a terrific selection of late model used vehicles. The pictures really make it easy to know what the car looks like. I purchased a 2015 BMW 5-series, and the Vroom price compared to a similar make/model/mileage vehicle from CarMax was $3,000+ cheaper. I selected my vehicle over a few weeks of looking at photos. I am a car enthusiast! I spend way too much on cars ??? but I work 24/7 and it???s my only hobby. This review will be a bit on the long side, simply because I have so much to say about my experience with Vroom. My wife gets frustrated with me because I talk so often about how amazed I am with Vroom in every aspect! I bought my first car in 1968. Back then I couldn???t afford much, but since about 1979 I???ve purchased some very cool cars. I even bought a brand new Rolls Royce back in 1985. I???ve owned: exactly 10 Mercedes, Jaguar, Ferrari, Audi R8, BMW, Range Rover and several others. So when it comes to dealing with car dealerships, I feel like I???ve become rather expert ??? AND a huge skeptic of car dealerships!!! When you buy a high-end car, you lose SOOO MUCH money, as soon as you drive it off the showroom floor. So the last time we purchased cars, we decided to purchase nearly-new cars with very low mileage on them. We bought an Audi R8 and a Mercedes SL63. And it turned out GREAT. No regrets. So now it was time to sell those cars and buy two more. I happened across Vroom.com in my Internet search, and found the perfect cars for both my wife and I at the same place ??? Vroom.com. The cars are nearly identical to the same cars we???ve been driving, but just newer. A 2014 Audi R8 and a 2014 SL63 ??? both with about 3,500 miles on them. Even the same colors as our previous cars. I got bids from several companies to sell our cars to. Vroom offered the highest amounts on both of our cars!! And it was FAR easier to sell to them than any other company. Unbelievably simple! And the prices for the newer 2014 cars was extremely fair. I flew out from South Orange County, California to Vroom to look at and drive both cars. Vroom picked me up at the airport and brought me back to the airport. I was extremely impressed with Vroom and their showroom. And without exception, every single person I???ve spoken with and dealt with at Vroom has been not only helpful and enthusiastic, but GENUINELY concerned about making me happy. Even after the sale they keep contacting me to see how I???m doing and to ask if there???s anything that I need. They got me great financing! Less than 3% interest rate. I had no clue that you could do that with a ???used??? car. No other buying or trade-in experience I???ve ever had comes even close to how great, simple and fast this was. Oh???and they shipped the cars from Texas to us at NO CHARGE, and picked up our two cars at the same time. And the nice young man who delivered the cars was fabulous. He was so very, very careful with our cars. And not only do they have their guarantee ??? I believe you have a week or so to drive the car, and if you don???t like it, they will take the car back. They even told me several times (even after I???d purchased the cars) that if for some reason we decided we did not want the cars, they would come pick them up and truck them back to Texas at NO COST to use. Unbelievable!! Well, my wife is now also so impressed that she no longer is frustrated with me for talking about Vroom so much, and telling all my friends. In fact, I???ve already asked Vroom to look for a car for my daughter. I now would not think of getting her car anywhere else than Vroom. I mentioned before that I???m a skeptic when it comes to car salesmen and dealerships. So if I was you reading this, the first thing I???d wonder is, ???Why is this guy writing this review? Are they paying him???..???? Well, I don???t know any of the people at Vroom. I spent so much time on this review simply because I believe that when people deserve credit, and they treat you so nicely, you should reciprocate and sing their praises. My name is Dr. Rod Kurthy. I first owned a 2013 impreza. I totaled it at 103,500 miles and bought a 2018 impreza with 7800 miles. You would think after 5 years Subaru would get their bluetooth connectivity issues fixed. But obviously not. I'm playing music in my car get out of my car with it still running, get back in my car put it in reverse and my phone randomly disconnects and will not reconnect until I restart the car. And heaven forbid you take your seat belt off a split second before you put it in park because it will beep like crazy even after it's in park! So stupid! I feel like my 2013 impreza was a little quicker as well. My 2013 had all the recall/lawsuit problems so hopefully the 2018 is better build quality . Other then those small problems it's been a great car and I like it.

I was referred to Texas Direct Auto/Vroom by a good friend and I???m glad I decided to go with them for my car purchase! I initially got Billie as my car sales personnel, but she seemed to be very pushy and just aiming to make quick sale; which is something that made me very uncomfortable. After speaking with her for a while I advised I would give her a call back to speak with my financial advisor on proceeding further on this process with Vroom. When I called back I got a different agent that saw in the system that saw I was talking to Billie and advised me that she would give me a call back in 5 mins, well 30 mins passed and I called back upset because I did not hear back from her after she ran my credit and didn???t like the fact I wasn???t trying to put 2500 down. My credit score was excellent I had a 740, but I didn???t have enough credit history she said is the reason why she kept asking me to put so much money down on 23k 24k car. The last time I called upset after not hearing anything from her a gentleman by the name of Shannon Humbles answered and I advised him that I did not want to work with Billie anymore because she made me feel very uncomfortable and I felt like she didn???t personally care about helping me through the process of the purchase. Shannon is an ALLSTAR!! He went over and beyond the call of duty to help me make this purchase!!! 7 days later my vehicle sits in my parking garage and I love it! The process was so easy to purchase, I had to put 1500 which is the standard, instead of 2800 that???s Billie was demanding that I put down! Please go with Vroom! I saw a couple bad reviews and I know every process has its flaws, but I???m here to tell you, they work! They are a very good company and I look forward to making another purchase with them for my girlfriend???s Christmas gift! Thanks Shannon and Vroom!!!!

This car is an AWD car like all Subaru's and it also had phenomenal gas mileage. Recently went on its first long road trip and it got an average of 39 miles to the gallon. I have had other cars of it type and none of them feel as sturdy as this one. The only issue that I have with this car is sometimes the backup camera can have issues, but this is supposed to be fixed in an update.

After purchasing a 2006 Subaru Forester regrettably from another dealership who would not address a service issue on an advertised feature. I came upon your dealership from Subaru parts ct on the web and saw that your location was convenient to my home so I ordered the part I was looking for on your website. I received notice the next day that the parts was available for my pickup. When I went to the parts counter I was greeted by people who knew what I needed and were able to supply me not only with the part but with the drawings and information necessary for me to painlessly get the parts changed and functioning properly. I also ordered another part special order and again the part came join on time and with all the information I needed to perform the installation with no issues. And the parts from Suburban Subaru are over 10% less expensive that the other Subaru dealership who wouldn't help me out fixing the problem that they sold me. Thanks to Suburban Subaru parts and service personel I now know the way to the best Subaru dealer in Connecticut. Thanks guys

6 great years in my Impreza Wagon

I drove this Subaru Sport Premium for 6 years. My first AWD car and I loved it! This car blew my Mazda 3 wagon out of the water. There was no comparison for driving in snow, ice and rain in New England. It was the mid model and I was very happy. Cloth seats were fine and comfortable, ample storage. Bluetooth was bad, and generally the cars Tech was sub par. My major complaint was the advertised 26 city / 37 hwy MPG. This estimate IS criminally wrong. Not even close, after 6 years the best combine was 25 MPG and that included round trip drives from Boston to Montreal with NO stop lights for 100s of miles. Also issue with 'wheel bearings' at the tune of $500. According to the mechanic, Subarus are know for this issue and this was only one rear wheel, uugh. But this car did me fine for 6 years and choose to trade up to a new brand and leave the awful MPG and 'wheel bearings' behind. I'll see how the Buick Encore goes for 6 years.

We weren't planning on buying anything yet and were just looking. Everyone was friendly and helpful without being pushy and/or just looking to make a sale. Bill K. worked with us, asked questions, really listened to what we had to say and respected our opinions - meaning he didn't try to change our mind about what we liked or wanted in a car. He also understood that I was still hesitant to give up my 15-yr-old 2002 Outback. It was in good shape but due to age would eventually start needing expensive repairs, which is why we were starting to look around. He was very knowledgeable and found us a car similar to what I had. On one question we had he got someone else more knowledgeable about it to speak with us. We did a test drive - sweet ride. We asked for time to talk and think some more. He left us alone. When we came back in to talk, he made us an offer we couldn't refuse. Finance also found us a warranty we couldn't refuse. Bill has checked in with us a few times to see if we had any questions and how we liked the car. We couldn't figure out how to set the clock - the manual wasn't helpful on that - and we brought it in. Bill was with another client but had Guy come out to the car and set it up for me. Guy was a sweetheart and patiently went through everything on the dash with me and set things up the way I wanted them. LOVE the car!! I've had it two weeks and already took it to Maine and back. Very sweet ride - like floating. Bill is a great guy and we highly recommend him and the dealership. It was a refreshing change from past dealership experiences where they only cared about selling a car no matter what or how, and getting as much money as they could out of us. I recently said goodbye to my 16 year old Subaru Forester and I was so sad! So, I went to Bertera, met Jeremy Schmieding in Sales, and he really helped me in my decision to buy a 2017 Forester. It is a big difference between the new and the 2002 model, and I was a bit apprehensive about the size (much bigger than I thought) and the "new" dashboard controls. It drives like riding on glass! Beautiful color, very comfortable. I think I drove Jeremy a bit nuts with all my questions, but he was SO patient and understanding and showed me everything I needed to know. He's always around to answer any questions I have, no matter how silly. I love Bertera Subaru and will always buy the Forester. I also like how environmentally conscious Subaru is. (Love their commercials). I'd recommend this car for everyone! And have Jeremy take care of you- he's great! I've even named my Forester after him- "Jasmine (for the color) Jeremy"! See you at 1000 miles.......

I went to Bertera Subaru to look around for a used Forester. Their prices on the internet for Black Friday weekend were showing up less than other dealers in the area and I wanted to see if they actually were true. I had already made a deposit on a slightly used car (2016) at another dealer. I was introduced to Joe Bucko. He had a similar car on the lot but he then told me they were doing a sale on 2017 cars that weekend and when he told me the price, it was several hundred dollars less than the 2016 I already put a deposit on. We picked out the color from a car on the lot and I was about to order one for delivery when he offered a break on the new one in the lot with extra accessories for the same price. How could I say no. I did purchase the 100K warranty which I think is worth it for a new car and the maintenance program for $970. When I went back to get the car ( Joe got the car registered and plates on), I decided to cancel the maintenance program due to another review and they were very amenable to this. However, after I found out that it covers an extensive 30K check up and not just oil changes, I decided to keep it. Joe went out of his way to make things easy for me. I had to come back because the engine light had gone on and then next day it went off and he was helpful and ready to get me into the service area quickly. Great guy. All in all, this has been a very good experience for me as I am not one to buy a new car. Also, Subaru sends you a very nice leather travel bag for purchasing a new car. That was cool.

I originally saw a 2002 Subaru Impreza WRX on the Bertera website a couple of months ago, but decided I could find something cheaper on Craigslist. After looking at about ten different cars and realizing they were all either abused or rusty over the course of two months, I contacted Bertera and asked if they were negotiable on the 2002 WRX. They were very friendly, responding to my query instantly, and so I set up an appointment to go check out the car later that evening. I met with the salesman Jonathan who was very friendly and spent time with me and my wife giving us the background of the car. The car was in pretty good shape, minus a few blemishes expected of a more than ten year old car. Jonathan explained that the car was owned by the same owner, who purchased the car from Bertera new and had it serviced there consistently. After going for a test drive, I decided I wanted the car and me and Jonathan sat down to discuss the price. At no point did I ever feel pressure what so ever, which was really refreshing for a dealership. It was more of a "this is our best price, just let us know" situation, which made the buying experience very comfortable. Jonathan worked up the numbers and came out with a very competitive price. I asked him if they could do just a little better and after speaking with his manager, Jonathan told me they would meet my request. I was very happy with my purchase and Jonathan kept me updated over the next two days about registering, detailing, and inspecting the car. He clearly tried very hard to get me into the car ASAP and I was very grateful for that after having been without a car for 2 months. Overall, the experience was very low pressure, very quick, and enjoyable. Hopefully when I get out of law school, I'll be back to Bertera to buy a newer Subaru!

Fabulous car, some downsides

To be honest, the car is great. It looks and feels great in and out. The seats are stylish and the dash is sleek and has a large touch screen (mines a Sport model). However, there are downsides. I love how cool the screen is, but not having buttons feels dangerous. I have to look down too much to hit the buttons since I can’t feel then like a regular radio/whatever. Secondly, whoever thought it was a good idea not to make he cup holders round is crazy. Half is curved, but then it’s straightens out to look like a short bullet shape. What this means is that no cup is secure and the drinks bounce around and when you learn about it it’s from spilling coffee all over in your brand new car cuz you went over train tracks. Third, the transmissions jerks sometimes when you let off the accelerator. When it downshifts you can feel the car since back as the transmission starts to stop the car when it should be saving energy by coasting. These I’m told are normal traits in the car. Lastly, the 28mpg city rating is false. I get 20 in the city driving like a grandpa. Apparently these things suck when the engine is could and my 2 miles commute sees the worst efficiency I can imagine for a brand new 4 cylinder with such a good rating. All in all though, I like it and it’s a sexy car.

I have been thinking about downsizing from my Chrysler Town and Country for a few months. The Subaru Forester was one of the SUV's on my list to consider. I stopped at Steve Lewis to get started on my search. I left 4 hours later with a brand new 2017 Forester. I didn't think I would be able to find a smaller car with all of my "must haves." I was wrong. Eric spent the whole afternoon with me asking questions about what I wanted and answering every question I had...EVERY question. Once Eric was able to actually get me into a car with all my requests (remote start, Sirius Radio, inflatable lumbar, power seats, power liftgate to name a few), Jack stayed after hours to be sure all my paperwork and financial needs were met and complete. Fast forward three days. Now it was Brent's turn to take on the difficult job of explaining a technical car to a non-technical customer. Mission accomplished!! I also spoke with Benny Cruz in customer service who gave me his card and encouraged me to call him for any future needs. Thank you Eric, Jack, and Brent for making what can be a stressful experience an easy one. I plan on keeping Benny's card close at hand.

We looked for a smaller SUV, and the Subaru was a pleasant surprise. Aside from the fact that it comes with known Subaru reliability, it's fun to drive. The standard equipment is almost TOO much!! The safety features are incredible ( especially vs most American vehicles ). I would definitely recommend this vehicle to others!?
