Bought it new in Oct 2011, fantastic in snow, I live in a hilly area of PA and still get 28 mpg local and 33 mpg on trips, only issue I had with it was had to replace front wheel bearing, which i did myself. Takata air bag issue was fixed promptly by dealer, very satisfied with car and dealer, Minooka Subaru Moosic PA.

I love the look, performance, features, comfort and reliability. I have owned VW's, Ford Pinto, Audi Fox, Honda Accord, Toyota Tercel, Chevy Malibu, Chevy Impala and a 1942 Pontiac that was a gift from an old neighbor who went into a Nursing Home in 1964. I had the most fun in the '42 but my Legacy is by far the nicest car I have ever owned.

Engine and mileage troubles

It's a pretty little car. I got the white. It does have excellent outboard visibility which was important to me . The seats are comfortable and I wanted it for the safety ranking, the AWD and the visibility all of which are as promised. It is the smallest car I've had in 40 years but has room for what I need at my age. However it did not get better than 19 mpg city and highway and they had to put a new engine in it. Now it is averaging 24 and can get 32 on the hwy in favorable conditions. I like the heated sets on the lowest setting and am happy to have the back up camera although it is nearly useless after dark-very blurry. I think it accelerates fast enough. I am not happy to not have retained auxiliary power which I thought was standard on something at this price : $26,0000. It is a huge nuisance to have to turn the car back on to close the sunroof or roll a window up or down, The sound system is horribly overcomplicated. Too many unneeded warning indicators which are pretty tiny and take research to figure out.I like the driver info center. I'm getting older and would prefer a car with fewer rather than more features. I had to search hard to find one with a compass , which I still find useful and essential but it is placed-way up in a corner of the rearview mirror. Should be on the dash somewhere to be really useful. The salesforce and the mechanics are very responsive and the car is generally well made. They fixed the engine without complaint. So they get points for that. I just think it is complicated in ways that are not helpful.

Legacy issues

I drove this 15 Legacy Premium for a year now, bought it certified used, with 60000 miles on it, I put 20000 in one year and had 3 major brake downs with the car: 1) oil seals were leaking and needed replaced 2) transmission valve body needed replacement Both luckily were covered by warranty 3) starter was loose and needed to be re tighten that was not covered by warranty Other than that the car does give good gas mileage, drives well, and has good features. I’m glad I had the certified used but I can’t imagine buying this car with no warranty

I recently had a wonderful experience purchasing my vehicle at Royal Auto Group, Haddon Township location. I called to see if the vehicle was still available and was told it was ready for me to come in and see immediately. Upon arrival I was met at the door by salesman Dave with keys in hand and the vehicle ready for test drive. The vehicle was detailed clean and drove beautifully. During the test drive the discussion was about the vehicle and not about money or credit scores as it has been with past experiences of mine at other dealerships. Dave was courteous, professional, and knowledgeable about the vehicle and able to answer all my questions. I didn't feel pressured and found it to be a comfortable experience. After the test drive I met with Yas who ran the numbers and who was also professional, knowledgeable, and courteous,(funny too). I didn't feel pressured and everything was explained in detail and all my questions were answered in a no pressure, no rush atmosphere. We were quickly able to come to an agreeable number that I was comfortable with. At signing Debbie was also patient and reviewed everything clearly and answered all my question with professionalism. Sam, service manager, made sure my car was in impeccable condition before leaving the lot. The whole the interaction took about 3 hours and I left happy with a vehicle I love. The entire staff from Royal Auto in Haddon Township were a pleasure to deal with. After meeting the owner Basem, who most definitely went above and beyond to ensure customer satisfaction and created a purchasing environment I feel I can trust I can easily say Royal Auto Group Haddon Township is properly named, as they truly treat their customers like royalty. The place is small with only a couple employees. They don't have a large selection of of cars, but everything on their lot looks like an above average vehicle. I was there to buy a 2003 Corvette. After speaking with them on the phone about the car, it seemed like the quality that I was interested in. I drove 3.5 hours to see it, took it to Chevy dealer in the area for an inspection. Nothing major was wrong, the mechanic said he would buy it. I spoke with Bill for a long time, he's the mechanic on site. If you're interested in one of their cars, you should check his opinion. He is very knowledgeable and upfront about the vehicle's condition. Financing was quick, though the banks they deal with, I didn't get as good a rate as I feel I should have, but they said it was because of the age of the car, not a reflection on me. I am very happy with my decision to take the day and go out there to buy my beauty.

In 1998 we decided to lease our first Subaru and, of course, we visited your dealership first. However, it was not a very pleasant experience because people there were not friendly to us, and we had to find another dealership. When our lease had expired, we came again to your dealership. Unfortunately, after 3 years, the story repeated again. Since we are fans of Subaru, we have a new lease every 3 years. Before 2014, we got three Foresters and one Outback. In 2014, we had to lease a new car and we decided to try your dealership one more time. We were really surprised! The entire atmosphere there was completely different: sales consultants were friendly and knowledgeable. We remember that in the middle of our conversation with a consultant, Robe Shintaku (sales manager) came to us. He asked a few questions about the options we would like to have in our new lease, and then he went to check out our car. In 15-20 minutes, he came back with an excellent offer. We could not believe this is the same place: this team completely changed the business for better. We remember final part of our business ??? it was a very pleasant meeting with Gary Segal. Three years passed quickly. Several weeks ago, without any scheduled appointment, we came to Glanzmann Subaru again to get our Subaru #6! Our sales consultant was a very nice young man Scott Fields. We began our conversation and suddenly we saw Rob Shintaku. He came to us and after a short pause, he said, ???Are you Vishnevsky? Sorry, I don???t remember your first names???. We were completely shocked ??? after three years, he remembered our last name. It is impossible, especially with the last name like ???Vishnevsky???. All procedure took no more than 20 minutes: we got an excellent deal; by our request, Rob promised to add several features to our new Outback. In a week we got a beautiful Subaru #6! Dear Mr. Glanzmann, we would like to thank you and your fantastic team for an excellent service and understanding of client???s needs, being professional and courteous and willing to satisfy a client. My Forester would not start on Friday night , 9-21-18. I was 25 miles from home and I called the Subaru Roadside Assistance. The Operator was wonderful and we made arrangements to have my car towed Saturday at 8:30 am, when the Glanzmann Service Department would be open. Eric Wilson meet the tow truck driver at the dealership and called me to reassure me that my car had arrived and that the technicians would evaluate the problem. I received a call on Monday at 8:30 am from Eric who informed me that the problem was the alternator. My car was repaired and ready to go be 10:30 am on Monday. How fabulous is that turnaround time? Thank you Eric and Stephanie for the EXCELLENT service and keeping me informed. Also, kudos to Nick in Service who also helps me with the phone system in my Crosstrek, since I am a major technophobe!

Erick was the person who I met at Glanzmann who literally knows everything there is to know about how the technology works in my 2018 Crosstrek. I met Erick when I was purchasing my vehicle with Phil Han. Erick was extremely polite. After I purchased my Crosstrek I met with Erick who reviewed the technology with me. He never rushed me and answered every one of my many questions. I purchase my car in May and all was well until September when I could no longer keep a GPS signal while using the Android Auto, As I mentioned in another review (see Phil Han) no one at Subaru, not just Glanzmann, seems to know how to fix the issue but are aware of the problem. I lived with this for 2 months and was really getting very annoyed that it did not seem to be fixable. I contacted my salesman Phil Han who learned from Erick a possible fix for this problem. We scheduled an appointment and literally within 3 minutes Erick had this problem resolved. I won't tell you how as Erick should tell you. Honestly, Erick should get a bonus, in my opinion, for being proactive in trying to resolve this. His insights should be shared with service and corporate. Thank you so much for your wonderful staff. Talk about a sleek car with available iSight camera system that helps ensure the safety of everyone in the vehicle. Comes with adaptive cruise control and lane keep assist. Automatic braking to avoid front end collion. Reverse camera with automatic braking and sensors to alert you of oncoming objects usually not in your immediate view when reversing. The day time running lamps are the sharpest looking thing on the road, I prefer them over my BMW LED day time running lamps. In terms of comfort you have all premium leather heated seats with a wood grain front panel that gives off a modern style. Steering wheel paddle shifters with AWD give you superb control. Keyless entry and push to start engine means you can quickly get in and go! Has the new shark fin antenna that flows with the vehicle. I really enjoy almost everything about the car. It drives well, good features, good mileage for AWD. I wish the body was not so low to the ground ( easy to scrape on curbs etc ) but I want a sedan and it seems all sedans now are low like this one nowadays.

Does the end justify the means? Definitely not! That said, my ultimate experience with Rafferty was both enormously gratifying and also, for better or worse, just as upsetting at the beginning. The first half of that remark is for the dealership; the latter for my fellow consumers. However, both parties could benefit tremendously by considering the last-minute, Hail Mary, work-a-round I accidentally ended up applying Without naming names I'll just say that sales reps - within every industry, and just like us - have both good and bad days. The corresponding features of each can have a profound effect on one's level of focus, will, energy, helpfulness, determination, interest, caring, etc, etc, etc. If you were a rep wanting to win an award for salesperson of the year you'd better be on the positive side of those traits. If you are a consumer, however, and purely by chance happen to find yourself dealing with a "bad day" rep, don't blame the dealership. Rather, hang up, call back and specifically request a different person. That's what I did - but ONLY after five days of steaming over what happened during my first attempt. On the fifth day I was actually in the process of wiring money to a different dealer for a car I decided I could probably live with when suddenly the internet went down. Everything stopped. I thought for a moment, picked up the phone and followed the above advice. The outcome? I was paired with a rep with whom I was able to connect genuinely, and ended up getting the car of my dreams. The moral: Neither steam nor groan, Unless flawless you've been shown. Realize that dealerships keep multiple reps on hand for the express purpose of compensating for the daily allotment of "bad day" reps who, for the sake of all, would have done far better to call in sick.

I finally had an easy hassle free car buying experience. I have owned a few Subaru's and had about 4 months left on my lease. I thought it was time to begin checking out new cars. I have never dealt with Rafferty in the past but they had the most inventory in my area so I thought I would check it out. I started emails with Jessica, the internet rep. We already discussed pricing for the make and model I was interested in before I walked into the dealership. I walked into the dealership at 9:30am and drove off the lot in a new vehicle by noon. My sales rep Steve Heck was friendly personable and knowledgeable about the vehicle. There wasn't the usual phony haggling that I have encountered at other dealerships. I had already researched the fair market price for this vehicle with options and Steve came back with a figure that was right in the sweet spot. The Finance portion with Jim McDonald was fast and efficient. I have previously sat for over an hour going through paperwork. I was done in 10 minutes. Jim answered my questions when I had them and we moved through the mountains of paperwork effortlessly. The car got detailed and Keith walked me through all the electronics and operations. It was a pleasure dealing with Steve and the rest of the staff at Rafferty. Don't let the construction going on keep you from visiting the dealership. Yes its a bit of chaos but out of the 6 new cars I have purchased over my lifetime, this is the first experience that wasn't a painful drawn out ordeal that took all day. Oh and so far, I love the car

Amazing sedan for the snow! Drives well. Great features. Really the only thing that’s missing for me is the automatic lock once the car is in drive and moving. You have to remember to lock the doors. Otherwise, I love it!

Love the vehicle other than having to put 8 low beam bulbs in it over the last nine years. This task is very difficult to do and expensive to have a mechanic do. This is such an issue it almost would make me not want the vehicle

I had not purchased from Rafferty in the past, but had been bringing both my Subarus to them for service for several years, and their Service Department is excellent. I was dropping off my WRX and thought I'd see if they had a new model in stock "just to check out". I was introduced to Ben Weyant and after an honestly enjoyable hour or so I was leaving in a 2018 WRX in the exact color and with the specific package I wanted! It really was that easy. And "enjoyable" is not hyperbole! Ben is one of the nicest people I've met in a in long time, he made the whole experience truly pain-free! I highly recommend Ben (and all the staff) at Rafferty Subaru!

Great bang for the buck! Does everything you ask it to do without issues. Sun, rain or snow no match for this car. Going to purchase another but this with the 3.6 motor.

Ben clearly knows his product and absolutely goes beyond what I would expect in a car sales experience. We truly needed to go "old school" and visit the dealer to see how we would fit in a different vehicle model as we've been driving all-Ford for 15 years now. His ability to compare the Subaru line (Crosstreck & Forester vs Ford Edge) was remarkable. He understood our needs and catered to them, understanding that we were not ready to make the move...just a few months left on our current Ford Lease. A 20 minute conversation and a walk around the lot together allowed us to hear about our options so we were more prepared to make a final decision. We will be back to work with him in the very near future and will absolutely be telling our family and friends to do the same. Definitely a refreshing feeling to know Rafferty has such talent. Ben set the standard for us and we truly hope our upcoming experience with him and other staff is just as exceptional.

I like the Legacy and it’s safety features. It was comfortable and roomy. AWD was good in snow and easy to drive. It also has some nice features like the Bluetooth, a CD player and cruise control. Backup camera was also a plus.
