Owners Alex & Eddie were easy to talk to over the phone and in person. They listen to what actually the customer needs and exceeds expectations by doing their best to accommodate my needs and wishes, from price negotiations to checking out almost every single car in their lot. Alex was very patient, even their assistants. His integrity was evident, no sugar coating during the sales process. I definitely recommend their company and I would come back again on my next cash car purchase! Lovin' my 2005 mini- thank you Alex, Eddie and Joe, and autoempirellc team!

322K miles and still going. I love this Car

I bought it new in 2002. I have used it when my kids were teens to hall them, their friends and all the stuff that goes along with them. I load all my camping stuff in it (mostly in the trunk yes there is a system) I can get 25 2x4s from one end to the other inside. I now hall my massage table in it. Now 2019 it has a bit of rust but not bad. I love the layout. The sales person was 6’4” and sat in the back seat to show me how much room it has. It has 5 cup holders and lots of storage most cubbies hold many CDs. I originally wanted it because of the placement of the speedometer on the dash (I drove at night thought it was safer to look on the dash rather than down, the safety and because Toyota’s have a reputation of lasting for many miles. My husband is a big guy and he fits nicely inside even with his hat on. I almost forgot to tell about the two glove compartments and the drawer under the passenger seat. That’s an amazing and useful idea! I used to drive an hour one way to work and the echo is the car that got me there. Oh she has started every winter with no problem. Even when nobody else’s vehicle would start my echo did.. I’m not saying she liked it but I got where I had to go. Just for reference, I live in northern Illinois and she is kept outside.

An excellent first carbuying experience
by Ned Kuczmynda from Baltimore, Maryland
November 6, 2018
5 5 5 5 5 4.4 (144 reviews)
This was my first ever carbuying experience. My father, Grandfather and I drove about 40 minutes from where we live to get to Family Auto, and it was well worth the drive. We first looked at a toyota camry, but eventually decided it was not the right choice and began checking out a Hyundai Accent. When we took it for a test drive, we noticed a loud screeching noise as we drove. James said it was probably just a loose AC belt. When we got back, I was apprehensive about the purchase but my father and grandfather, who are far more knowledgeable than myself in these matters said it would be an easy fix. We went in to his office, where in the process of filling out the paperwork, James offered to knock a bit off the price just in case the problem was something serious. We were just about to buy the car, when we realized that he only took cash or cashier's check, and since it was labor day, we were unable to buy it right away. We came back the following night, to find out that in addition to the discount James had already applied, he had ordered replacement belts and had them installed in the car. When we pulled out of the dealership, the car rode extremely smoothly. James bent over backwards to assure the most optimal purchase and made my entrance into the terrifying world of car ownership that much easier.

We bought our 2001 echo used with 65000 miles in 2010. We now have 218000 miles on it. We have regular oil, fluid, tire, plug, and battery replacements. We have belts and hoses replaced 2 times. We have replaced the original starter 9 months ago. We had to replace 1 ignition coil and tappit cover gasket 3 months ago. Not as good as a tercel. But, better than a yaris.

The Vehicle I was looking for was there an was nice but didn't have all the features that cars.com said it had same car just not the same features which was disappointing cause it's what got me interested in the first place but I did see cars that I did like but when I asked about those features he said they didn't have them an I showed him what cars.com posted he said he didn't know why they put that there an if I went to their website I would see they didn't post that an it wasn't on theirs at all that sucked but thanks anyway

The best reliable car ever
by Ripi from Brooklyn

I had my 2003 Toyota Echo for over 15 years now. It has taken me and my family to many places safely. The car doesn't require much work, but the basic oil change and check up on tires and brakes. My starter stopped working along with something else that the mechanic shop is currently working on. My fingers are crossed hoping it's not the engine. This all happened after the 15 years mark and I have over 110,00 miles on it. If I can get a new one with 4 doors and an automatic window, i would gladly buy it. I have the 2 door with wind up windows and I love it. Lol. Hope this helps someone decision to buy an Echo.

Incredible Car
by Aries from Stirling, Alberta, Canada

We bought the 4-door model brand new in 2003. It’s November 2018 and it is still going strong! We are a family of four and though sometimes getting all of us in the car along with major grocery shopping or camping gear can be a bit tight, the car is more than reliable, and has loads of trunk space. I commute a good 100km (hwy) to and from work daily and it has never let me down. Mileage is incredible - we’re still getting 40 miles to the gallon. We currently have over 426,000 km and no major repairs. We have always been vigilant with oil changes, fluid checks and tire rotations. The only thing I miss is armrests, but it’s a very minor inconvenience. This car is bulletproof! Going to hate it when finally putters out, but we’ll definitely be purchasing another Toyota!

Mine is 2003 with 198,000 miles. AT, PS, PB and A/C. I get 42mpg on most every tank. I run High mileage Full Synthetic Oil and change every 5,000 miles. The PS and AT fluid is still clean and clear! Fun car to drive, cheap to insure, and great on gas. It has a Timing Chain, not a belt that has to be replace every few years. These cars were designed to be less expensive, and you only paid for what you wanted put on them (rear defroster, PW, PL, Spoiler, etc.). If you can find one in decent shape, BUY IT!

I bought the 2003 Echo new in the fall of 2002. It just came out and they had one on the lot. I needed a car quickly since my other car just died. I loved it from the first day. It was quiet ,fast and very enjoyable do drive. Today is 2018 and I have 266 000 km it, never any repair and everything original in it except battery and brakes off course. Never a light bulb burnt out in this 16 years. I drove it all year round city and highway. In this category the car is amazing. I have an Infiniti G35X also and off course the Echo is not that ,but I drove many small cars before but the Echo was by far the best. Now only drive it from April to September and wonder how many more years I will have this great little car without any problem. Now this is more like an experiment.

This car was an excellent Purchase. Purchased it brand new in 2001. Sold it to my grand daughter in May of 2018. This car had cost me the usual - summer and winter tires, a couple of batteries, and 1 set of brakes in 2016. When sold it had over 268,000 k and still running perfectly. This was an automatic with air. All the rest was manual. Happy to recommend this car to anyone, but unfortunately unable to purchase a new one in the Okanagan as they do not carry the sedan only the hatch back that I did not want. Furthermore, unable to purchase a car they don’t carry on the lot, only available in Quebec.

On my last visit, I had a squeaky serpentine belt. I took it in very late in the day (4:30) and they still had time to diagnose the problem and set up an appointment to get it fixed. (I have been doing business at Sid Dillon Nissan for ten years now. During that time, I have bought or leased several cars. Also during this time, I have gotten all of my work done on all of my cars at Sid Dillon. To put it a different way, I have gotten every oil change, battery, tire, wiper blade, etc at Sid Dillon. I have ALL of my work done here because I get treated so well here. I won't take my cars anyplace else, I won't buy a car anywhere else. This is all a direct result of the treatment that I have consistently gotten at Sid Dillon Nissan. This is the kind of place I tell my friends about because you can absolutely trust them. THANK YOU, JOE BOWMAN and staff.)

I got a great deal on a used 2005 Pontiac Sunfire.
by Lauren from Dupont, WA
December 3, 2018
5 5 5 5 5 4.2 (8 reviews)
I bought a used 2005 Pontiac Sunfire two weeks ago from 507 Motorsports. Before I purchased the car, I had it professionally inspected for any issues (I paid $250 at Brown's Auto Care (nearby), to include a compression engine test - engine tests are expensive -- a regular inspection is about $100). The only issue that was found was a leaky oil seal. 507 Motorsports adjusted the price accordingly. One week later, I discovered that my windshield washer fluid dispenser wasn't working due to a huge crack in the reservoir. 507 Motorsports owner, Jason, tried to fix it for me for free with heavy duty epoxy, but there is still a small crack in it. He said that if I bring him a new water reservoir, then he'll fix it for free. I don't think that the car was sold to me with a broken reservoir (I checked it before leaving the lot, and the windshield washer fluid dispenser worked). After I bought the car, several people (snow tire installers, back-up camera installers, Brown's Auto Care - to fix the leaky oil seal) messed around near that area, and perhaps it was accidentally cracked. At any rate, I bought a car in good mechanical condition (the important stuff is working perfectly) with new tires at 507 Motorsports for a really good price, so I'm happy (I discovered that when I had my snow tires installed that my car came with new all-season tires). My recommendation is that if you are serious about buying a car at 507 Motorsports (or any used car dealership that doesn't offer a warranty/guarantee), it's best to pay $100 or so for a semi-thorough inspection at a nearby auto shop, and if something is broken, the dealership will work with you to fix it before you buy it because they want happy customers. Otherwise, go to a place that sells certified, warrantied pre-owned vehicles (you will be paying much, much more for the car than a measly $100 inspection) and buy your car there.

The North Hills Auto mall team did a wonderful job by finding my family and i the vehicle we were really looking for and that was in the price range. We had a certain range we wanted to stay in and they got straight to the point when we arrived. They helped my family and i find the perfect fit that accommodated our needs. The sales people are truly professional and really care about your needs in a vehicle. Everybody there was great and if your looking for your next vehicle definitely don't waste your time anywhere else where they wont attend to your needs and waste your own time. We were looking for over a month and everywhere else they pressured us and didn't have anything that even came close to this dealership. Found the best vehicle for the best price. Check these guys out, you wont be disappointed!!!

We purchased a 2018 Corolla iM (our 3rd car). I want to keep the 2001 ECHO, and we also own a 2008 Scion XD, but we only have a 2-car garage in a townhouse set up. It’s hard to let go of a low-maintenance but a very reliable car. It’s the lightest, easiest, least stressful, and most economical to drive among 5 cars that we’ve owned (for the price).

Yes, 2003. So no power windows, fancy electronics, bells or whistles. 4 cylinders so you're not getting 0-60 in 8 seconds, but the Echo is certainly not under-powered. Comfortable, and good room in the back. Seats fold down, handy for carrying bulky items. A real trooper.

Just leased a 2018 Compass. Very easy process start to finish. Happy with my experience. I recommend using Jay Marine as a salesperson. He was very nice. Scott Russo the finance manager was also great.

Gateway Subaru Review
Best Place to Buy a Subaru - Gateway in Delmar!

I have dealt with all the Subaru dealerships in Delaware and Delmar over the last 3 years - either buying and/or having my car serviced. When I decided to buy a new car, I was actually looking at Mazdas (a BIG departure since I have only ever bought Subaru cars). I visited CarMax in Salisbury on a Saturday evening to get an appraisal for my car, then went to dinner. Over dinner, I talked about how I should at least look at the Subarus. I decided to call Gateway Subaru to see when they closed for the night. I spoke to Lance Culver who said they would be closing in about 20 minutes. I told him I didn't think we could make it but I might drop by. About 25+ minutes later, I figured I would just drive by and look at the cars on the lot, but Lance was still there. He happily showed me several cars, gave me his card, some brochures, and told me to call anytime if I had any questions or wanted to test drive a car (I only sat in the cars, as it was getting late and I had to go). I set up my Mazda test drive and then called Lance to set up a test drive for a Subaru too. These test drives were both based on really good prices I got from both dealerships. I drove the Mazda 3 (both the sedan and hatchback) and the CX-3. I originally was looking at the Subaru Impreza sedan and hatchback, but then I looked at the Legacy and figured out it was more in line with the fully loaded Forester I was going to be trading in, so that is what I drove. I fell in love with the car, and Lance made sure that I got everything I wanted, at a price I could manage. His manager (Wendy Schiavone), was incredible too. She fully supported Lance in ensuring that I was a happy camper and personally made sure that I got the car I wanted (one that she drives, by the way). I look forward to having my car serviced at Gateway too (if you buy a maintenance package with the car, your maintenance costs will be covered and you won't have to pay MD tax - a benefit to a DE resident ;^) Go visit Gateway and you won't be disappointed - great cars and great staff!
