I bought my 2017 in spring of 2020 with 27k miles for $27k. I was specifically looking for a TRD Sport, manual trans. The Tacoma is the only manual trans truck produced anymore. I currently have 80k miles on it now and the blue book still shows it at $23k-$24k. I have not had any issues with it. I have done my own maintenance (oil changes and just recently front brake pads). The 2017 was the last year before they added all the safety stuff with the cruise controls. I'm glad I don't have that stuff. I also have the map system in my factory head unit and don't have to rely on the Apple carplay or Android auto apps. There was some discomfort in the seat. It was easily resolved with items that can be purchased to adjust the seat to your liking. There are a lot of complaints on the power and fuel mileage. Really?? Its a truck. Its not a sports car or compact sedan. Its not going to get the greatest mileage or set land speed records. If you want something that always starts, never leaves you stranded, and you can count on everyday, this is the one. If you want something that you want to spend a bunch of money repairing, you may want to look elsewhere.

Its a utilitarian stripped down Access Cab. Plenty of power with the V6 and tugs like a tugboat with 4WD. A dog can fit in the Access seat; people? Not so much.

I have 89,000 miles on my 2017 Tacoma SR. It has been a great truck except for a couple small issues and one larger issue. The big problem started 3 months ago when the AC compressor started seizing up. Took it to the Toyota dealer for service. I have been waiting on an OEM compressor for over 3 months. Unable to get one even though I had to pay $1000.00 dollars up front to the dealer before they would order it.

For a non full size pickup it seems pricey, but then again full size truck prices are ridiculous. The interior is really nice, spacious and well built. The truck handles incredibly well, and the 4 cylinder turbo has plenty of power. I was impressed with it's 6,000+ towing power. The exterior is mean looking and looks great heading down the road. I bought a SR model because I need a truck, not something full of options. The only downside is the box is smaller and holds a lot less than a full size and the Toyota sense safety is a bit much. I know it's there for a reason but it can be confusing.

My Third Tacoma. My first was a single cab which I drove a couple of years. My second I drove 14 years and I am on my fourth year in my current Tacoma. I don't intend to drive anything else unless They get so expensive, I can't afford it, or they quit making them. High mileage with low cost and no problems.

New owner of a 2024 Limited, extremely happy with the driving comfort, even though it does have a restricted leg room in the backseat which seldom is used. Upgraded technology inside the cabin with the 14 inch screen and the dial controls for the radio four-wheel-drive and HVAC controls. I really like the spray in bedliner power tailgate the exterior bed lights and the power steps also the rear sliding power window. my fuel economy is about 22 miles per the gallon but as of now it’s only got 1000 miles on it so I’m anticipating that to improve as the engine gets broken in. I do find that the standard turbo four-cylinder makes a slight rumble going uphill, but I have ordered a sound attenuation pad for under the hood and that should eliminate that. I find the driver in passenger seats to be equally comfortable with good bolstering as well as a lumbar support system that is four ways. I was a previous owner of a Ford F150 and a Dodge Ram 1500, but I wanted a pick up truck that would fit in my garage. Having have been a previous Toyota owner, I am looking forward to many years of problem free concerns based on the high-quality of Toyota and also the ACSI rating number of 83.

Bought my 2015 TRD Off Road Tacoma new off the lot and it has been a solid truck. I have only had to do a few things to it here and there, but I pull a trailer with a 1200lb SXS to West Virginia several times per year. In other words, I use my truck! I love it. Like any vehicle it isn't perfect. It has a few squeaks and rattles and there are things that could've been improved, but the engine and tranny are still going strong at 186k miles. I do hate that the headlights are prone to haze over and there is a noticeable whistle when traveling at 70+mph especially during crosswinds. The touchscreen display is impossible to read in bright sunlight because of the angle, and the blower fan could use more adjustment. As it gets older I have noticed there is some leakage of air to the defroster because the airway door isn't closing off completely. I can live with that. I have people ask me all the time if I want to sell it and I'm like NOPE! I'll keep it as long as I can.

For the size of motor it's surprisingly powerful. The transmission is smart and performs when needed, use the manual shift when needed. The ride is smooth, the suspension superior on the freeway handling anything I ask of it nicely. Off road it has traction features galore, nothing left for complaints. Best truck I ever owned.

Great experience so far with the Tacoma. Have loved the ride and comfort it provides, with the only negative so far being some of the quality of the interior isn’t the greatest. The door panels specifically are loose feeling on the handles, seems cheap for a $55k truck.

I leased a 2020 Toyota Tacoma and loved it. It was reliable but a little loud inside but that was fine. I just looked at the 2024 Tacoma and they got ride of the 6 cylinder and got a turbo motor. I don’t trust anything made after 202- so I’m looking for a 2021 Tacoma.

My boyfriend bought his car from Carmax and it was a great experience. So when I needed a new car I looked at Carmax as well. They had everything I wanted but I thought I would get a better deal at a dealership... Boy was I wrong. Went to three different dealerships almost went through with a deal but they couldn't get me a good interest rate. It was so painful and awful I had decided to give up and just sink money into my current car and try again next year. I had an appointment at carmax the following Sunday and Dwyane called me to verify the time. I told him what happened the previous day and said I would be keeping my car because I needed a good rate and didn't want to be making crazy payments. He said, I hear you and totally understand, I'm happy to help you whenever you're ready. Just so you know when you are ready I have a good rate for you so I know we can find you something to make you happy. I was surprised because the other dealership said we couldn't get close to what I needed. Well folks, I'm in a new car, my payments aren't crazy and I have peace of mind. The Gen 4 Tacoma is very nice. There are a few issues that Toyota should have never allowed. First, as in the Gen 3, the drivers side assist handle is missing. That is a nice feature that should be in the truck. Second, the glove box door looseness is an embarrassment. It is disgustingly loose. I was able to buy some inserts online for $11. Toyota ought to be doing that for all the trucks. Third, the electronic stuff is WAY WAY WAY overboard. Way too much and way to confusing and way to difficult to shut off and keep off. I want a truck I can drive, not wrestle with the electronics. The notion of not being able to buy desired options is terrible. I do not need a power tailgate and inability to open the tail gate without a key. Either pay $4000 for some thinks you want or pay $8000 to get lots of stuff you don't want just to get 1 or 2 things you do want. The electronic dashboard is way overboard. Another 'feature' that is way overboard and can not be simplified. This is a truck, how about some analog gauges? The good part is the ride is amazingly solid and smooth, performance is pretty snappy for a relatively heavy vehicle and I expect Toyota longevity. Overall, the basic truck is nice, but the extra stuff is unwanted, unnecessary and adds complexity that is not desired

I needed to move my preset appoint to a sooner date due to meeting my milage prior to my maintenance check-up date. The dealership was able to accommodate me even though this was a busy weekend. I was pleasantly greeted and given an estimated wait time since that what I chose to do. To my surprise my car was ready sooner than suggested. I was very happy with the service that I received.

My 2021 SR5 Tacoma is louder on the inside than my 2006 Tacoma was after 137,000 miles. Would seem like there wasn't as much sound deadening material installed for increased profits. Exterior lighting was also via halogen or incandescent bulbs rather than LEDs; another profit pinch.

If you want to enjoy your car buying process, go to Clearwater Toyota. Don't even bother with the other dealerships. In September I helped my sister shop for a newer SUV. Side note: A friend of ours who we saw having their Toyota serviced there when we got my sister's car, came back a week later and bought a brand new Toyota from them also! After 15 years with my previous Tacoma TRD Offroad, I bought the same vehicle to replace it. I really wasn't ready to replace it but the 24's don't excite me with the 4 cylinder turbo and I figured the longer I wait, the harder it would be to find a discontinued 6 cylinder in new condition. I got lucky and found a 3 month old 23 with 1,400 miles on it. I think Toyota screwed up with the 24 models, they cheapened them in many ways, crap engine, thinner frame, less underbody protection. Basically, they made them for people who don't want or need a truck but like the image.

This vehicle seems to be an outstanding vehicle for its class. The only reason that I'm not giving it five stars for comfort is that it rides like a truck -- which is what its supposed to be, but quite comfortable for a truck. The other four star rating I gave it was because it was not available with a manual transmission. Again, it's a truck, not a car and trucks, as working vehicles should be available with a manual transmission -- but people today don't want to actually have to DRIVE a vehicl.

The 2024 Toyota Tacoma TrailHunter is a special vehicle. It is a definite upgrade from any Toyota Tacoma ever produced. The list of improvements and options is too long to specify. It has everything you need for your daily commute and off-road adventures plus extra. Technology and convenience built in. The only drawback is the interior is a bit tight particularly in the back along with the price being a bit elevated, but you should be able to negotiate a better end-of-the-model year deal.
