I found out about the frame replacement due to holes in too late and was able to get in on it at the very end. So, mine has an upgraded commercial frame which has zero holes in it from the manufacturing process. They also did the front-end new ball joints and a bunch of other things. Was a Great deal. Now approaching 140,000 miles and still running strong. No oil leaks on the engine or transmission. Regular maintenance on it has been done to keep it in great shape!

I've owned dozens and dozens of car and this one has impressed me the most. Tons of power from the V6, typical Toyota reliability, very ergonomic, and very capable. I've hauled weight in this thing that would rival any truck and pulled a trailer that was double it's load rating. I absolutely recommend this car if you need a workhorse to drive you back and forth and not to die on you. A couple things about this car --- 200k miles with multiple total-loss level accidents because my jobs at the time had me on the road most days. Still running strong. I just took it on an interstate road trip and it doesn't miss a beat. This car is hard to kill. I don't know how this thing was built by Toyota but it is seriously impressive value for the money. Worth literally every penny for what I've squeezed out of it so far. Cons: the disrespect you get is insane. I've driven other cars and the hate that this car receives in particular is laughable. Also the performance is ridiculously bad, which everyone knows. One way to sum this up, I had a friend of mine once say, "It's hard to look another man in the eye while getting out of a Prius."

Many problems, but the car drives fine. Got it for cheap as a first car. Already had to put around 3- 4k into it. Fun car

I bought this car used with under 40,000 miles in 2014. I have been driving it ever since and currently have 272,000 miles on it. After multiple accidents and repairs it has been an extremely reliable and dependable car. Up until 250,000 I would have still driven it across multiple states. My biggest complaint is the quality of paint and the exterior design being so poor. Last year I replaced the timing belt and that was the biggest cost I've had on the car. It is beginning to throw check engine lights randomly and is burning oil - oil needs to be refilled every 1000-1500 miles now. Overall it is still a dependable vehicle around town if you are managing the oil.

We have owned our Highlander since about 42K miles, it now has 136k. The car has been wonderfully reliable and the batteries (now 16 years old) seem to still be working quite well. We get about 25mpg, maybe one or two less than when we first got it. While maybe not sexy, the first-gen Highlander Hybrid is a super well-engineered car. Our years in this tight, quiet, comfortable, spacious vehicle have been great. Biggest problem is we can't find a modern car we like enough to replace it!

This car has met all my expectations. Great car. I have be more than pleased with the great and dependable car. There is no better car.

I’m trying to reserve mileage because the car already has high mileage but already put around 2000 miles on it and the car runs like a charm with no problems.

After few years of usage, the car hard start. It gives electrical issue that affect the car performance. The car usually failed to start when hot due to such impact. The car wiper sometimes work on it own. Lastly, the car consume more fuel as it aged due to usage.

Bought used have never regretted it.l...low maintenance...no big problems..only the wheel sensor needs replacing and 02 sensor..not bad for 200 000 plus miles..just keep your oil changed and you'll get great service..runs like a dream..

Having problems with the driver side, side door and rear door. Rear door is coming down when you are still standing under it. Side door won't close,or unlock properly.

My dad had a 2000 Avalon and I ended up getting a 2001 Avalon I love it it rides so smooth and so comfortable I just got it maybe 2 weeks ago it's 2022 my car is 21 yrs old and has 125,000 miles before this car I had a 2006 Volvo s60 and my 2001 Avalon is way nicer and def better car all around I hated the Volvo

My 2004 Toyota Camry 2.4L it’s been the best reliable car a ever had , originally purchased to fix the crank shaft sensor on it do to gears not shifting properly, and resale after that , but after fixing it my self , I ended up Loving it , it now has 280,000 miles and still running with 0 problems or lights on the dashboard, and for sure will go over 300 k miles , it’s just and AMAZING car.

Bought a Limited V6 a year ago with 82k. The prior owner had all service records from Toyota dealer. All maintenance done according to manufactures recommendations. I changed break pads and timing belt. Steering and brakes are responsive. It rides like new and I hope to see 500k. (Currently have 93k) It's been in Wisconsin it's whole life and no rust. Couldn't be happier. After owning many other makes of cars and all the problems, I will be a Toyota owner for life.

The first-gen RAV4 is such an amazing car all-around. I've got a 2000, white, cosmetically modified. It's very sluggish, but it's not meant to be quick. If you want a quick first-gen, swap a 3S-GTE in, easy. The 3S-FE that came with these things was bulletproof. Only had to change the water pump and a few metal & rubber odds and ends so far due to my specific car sitting and aging from the previous owners. AMAZING car.
