(high energy music) <v Narrator>Cars.com Auto Review. (upbeat music) Hi, I'm Joe Wiesenfelder with Cars.com. I'm here with the Toyota FT-CH concept car. Now we don't know a whole lot about this concept car, but it is a Toyota hybrid.
So we thought we'd tell you a little bit about it anyway. Now FT stands for Future Toyota as it always does and CH means Compact Hybrid. It is smaller, about 22 inches smaller from bumper to bumper than the Toyota Prius. It's about as wide though. Now the idea here is a smaller, more affordable and more efficient hybrid than the Toyota Prius. Four seats. (upbeat music) And they're very different seats. They're made of mesh; small and lightweight, but this is very much a concept car interior. Pretty fantastical, not very likely to be a real car. The same goes for the shape of it. Some really dramatic creases in the sheet metal and this strangely shaped rear window, that's really expensive to manufacture. Honestly, the idea is the real idea, but in terms of an actual compact hybrid, smaller than the Prius, this probably isn't it. Now even though this is a way out concept car, it's not a real product, I think they have the right idea. Unlike the Honda CR-Z which is an actual product that's out at this auto show. It is a two-seater, it's smaller than their Insight. It's also less efficient than the Insight, who knows how much it'll cost. I think it's a much better approach to have a smaller, more efficient, more affordable hybrid. I think that's what hybrid buyers want. <v Narrator>For more car-related news go to cars.com or our blog, kickingtires.net.
