(car engine starts) Few cars are as iconic to Ford to the Mustang which gets a number of tweaks here in this refresh during the current generation. The hood is about an inch lower to give the Mustang a sleeker appearance.
Ford says probably the biggest single change you'll notice up front here is with the fog lights. They're repositioned from being over here, kind of a larger appearance, to being here, inside of an LED turn and parking light. Not as many apparent changes in back here but there is a new lower rear diffuser here with quad exhaust pipes on the GT. That's the V8 version of the Mustang. You get dual exhaust with the 2.3 liter EcoBoost four cylinder, and there's no longer a V6. This car here at the auto show has an automatic transmission. It's a new 10 speed automatic for the Mustang though there is also an available six speed manual. Those aren't the only changes inside the car. Obviously, you have new stitching on the center console here, new knee pads, and an available 12 inch set of virtual gauges that can show a lot of different stuff including your last set of lap times or a quarter mile, zero to sixties. Those acceleration times should be even lower than before thanks to new engine technologies. Chief among them new direct and port injection for the five liter v8. And we don't have horsepower or torque numbers yet but Ford promises higher output than last year's 435 horsepower and 400 pounds feed of torque. So stay tuned. Ford says it will reveal those numbers closer to the new Mustang on sale date in fall of 2017.
