Transcript

Genesis has made some huge changes for the 2026 GV70 and Electrified GV70. Okay, well, they're not huge changes, but they're significant. Let's talk about it.
Unless stated otherwise, everything that Genesis did to the standard gas-powered GV70, it also did to the Electrified GV70. So, we have snazzier new headlights, we've got a more complex front grill design here, there's some more colors to pick from, new wheel designs to choose from as well, and, well, that's it, and that's all right. Genesis was already selling plenty of GV70s before, had plenty of popularity, so why mess up a good thing? Notice anything? Yeah, I bet you did. Look at the size of that stinking screen. That is a 27-inch OLED display pulled right from the refreshed GV80 earlier this year. Ditto for the revised center console. We got some new rotary shifter here and a nice little crystal switch gear there. Also, same goes with this flat-bottom steering wheel. All looks pretty nice. This remains a very nice place to spend your time in traffic or otherwise. Gotta say, I am a particular fan of this Sport model with this navy upholstery and this orange piping and stitching and contrasted seat belts. Fascinating, and the light there. Also a big fan of this wild-looking carbon fiber. It might not come through on the camera. It's gloss, but it's also kind of like a, kind of a fractured, weird weave. Very interesting. The gas-powered trains don't change a lick. You've still got the same standard 2.5 liter turbocharged four cylinder, and the optional twin turbo 3.5 liter V6, same power, same everything, same transmission. However, while the Electrified GV70 is mostly mechanically the same, the battery is now 84 kilowatt hours, up slightly from 77.4 kilowatt hours, but the motors and everything is still remains the same. But the charge door, look at that. It's got a new motor for the door, it's got a light feature to see where it is at night, and a heating element, so, just for those cold-weather environments. Not too bad at all. Range, pricing, eh, who knows? Well, Genesis knows, but they're not saying anything quite yet. You're gonna have to wait 'til these handsome devils go on sale and the first half of next year, we'll learn more closer to that time, and when we do learn more, you know you can read all about it on cars.com/news.
