Cars.com Auto Review. Hi, I'm Joe Wiesenfelder with cars.com. We're taking our first look at the 2013 Acura ILX prototype. Now, typical of Acura and Honda, this prototype is practically done on the outside.
It is a compact, it will not replace the TSX. It will be sold alongside the TSX as another sporty compact. Acura says there'll be three engines for this car. A two liter four cylinder, a 2.4 liter four cylinder, and a 1.5 liter hybrid. That'll make it the first hybrid for Acura. There will be a manual transmission available, thank God. Obviously they're going to be automatics too. Now this car is based on the civic platform and that makes it an awful lot like the RSX, which was discontinued a while ago. We'd like to show you the interior, but there isn't one. Acura says this car will be ready in spring for well under $30,000. If that's true, they better chop chop.
