(rock music) (Narrator) Cars.com Auto Review Hi, I'm Lindsay Bjerregaard And I am Stephen Markley. We're here today at the Taste of Chicago. We're going to find out what taxpayers want to do now that they own a part of GM.
As a taxpayer you're part owner of GM, so what do you think they should do to fix the company? Invest in actual transformers? I would stop making Hummers. I would just say, make, just try to make more coefficient gas, mileage cars for the economy. That that'd be the biggest thing. I mean, still stick with some of the big cars, but have a bigger selection of cars. That's easy to save on gas. I think I would. Maybe not try to hit every market place in the world and try and reduce the amount of cars that I was making the put them out as more quality vehicles, as opposed to try to reach every facet of the public. Stop making so many models of cars, like just stick to like four basic types of cars, mass produce those, make sure they're energy efficient instead of having tons of different types of cars. Yeah, new, this new that, you know, like just keep going with the same ones. Make cars cheaper. (laughter) Well, they make nice trucks, but they don't make nice looking cars like lower cars, like changing the cavalier to cobalt is not, not going to cut it at all. Definitely a, an electric solution. That's kind of more based on solar rather than charging on a electrical system from a feed from your house. Something like the volt, but better looking than the volts. You don't like the way volt looks? No, I hate the way it looks. And then I still, I, I kinda missed the muscle guard. Like, you know, the actual real, the real deal car, you know, you don't might only get four or five miles to the gallon, but you know, I, I really miss the good times. So that would be nice to have something like that again. I'd like to see them make some high horse powered cars that are also economy friendly because I know a lot of those cars are kind of, kind of weak. So if they started making souped up cars that were also green or whatever, that'd be cool. Often more like hybrid or fuel-efficient options. If I was the CEO of GM. I would definitely you know, just put all of my money into environmental safe cars. Okay. Because even if you lose money, now you'd get tons of support from the government. Um, which they are getting anyway. Yeah Definitely get some more green vehicles. I mean, they gotta catch up with the Japanese. I mean, it's ridiculous. So there's just no trust in American vehicles right now. We've got to get it back. Well, GM there you have it. All the secrets to save your company. I hope you were listening. God, can I get a beer now. (Narrator) For more car related news, go to cars.com or our blog, kickingtires.net.
