(misty music) I've been in business for about 10 years in Princeton. Toyota, whenever they came to town, I came from Oakland city, an area over there about 10, 12 miles away from here.
And, and that was a lot of my reasoning to come here to town because Toyota was here. And I feel like the opportunities for more sales were definitely here in Princeton, Indiana. So they've been a good, very good for the communities. As far as car sales, for me, it's been very stable. It's been very good. (misty music) With the economy and the situation is, and Toyota building the bigger vehicles. It is a concern. I'm like everybody else. I hear that, and I fully believe that Toyota is uh, very aggressive. I think they will turn to more, you know, maybe build more cameras here. I think they will address that situation. As far as affecting our business here. It is already, the impact is already here because so many of the spinoff companies is who I sell to. I, I probably sell more to those people than I do Toyota employees. I mean, just tell you a real life story yesterday. One of our customers come in here. I do offer some buy here, pay here. She worked for one of the spinoff companies. She had to make a decision. Pay, let her uh, let her uh, furniture go back. She's on rent to own or pay for her vehicle. She says, if you'll work with me, I'm behind, I want my vehicle. So she's, she was very concerned, but I hear that a lot. A lot of the spinoff companies are cutting back. (misty music) The God Bless America sign has been there. It used to be a gas station. So that sign has been there longer than Toyota. It wasn't put there, but you know, after, or for Toyota, it doesn't really have any connection there. As far as me, I didn't want to cover it up. This, this is relevant or not. I, I was, I run a very Christian business in town and we have a very good reputation. So, you know, it sort of goes along with my, with my, my name and where, what I believe in. So I was very glad to leave that there you know. (misty music) You know, I still hear a lot of local people have concerns that these aren't American made cars. For me, locally here, I don't have very many foreign cars here in Princeton, Indiana. It still is a G.M. Ford Dodge community. I can sell a lot of Hondas and Toyotas if they're several years old. Newer ones, cannot move them. I can not move them, but there is some, there is some animosity yet you hear a little of that in town. Some of the older people, more than younger. (misty music)
