Transcript
(Car engine revving) Lincoln made a big splash at the auto show with a bold new continental, a sedan concept that the brand insists will become a production car soon.
We'll take your head to tail on this and cover what makes it a big new design change for Lincoln. There's a lot of visual heft in the continental concept. And a lot of that comes from these lines here. The roofline and the belt line as they go back toward very strong C pillars, they stay absolutely upright. Gives the car a very imposing stance, and it's very different from kind of the plunging profile you see in a lot of Lincoln's current vehicles. That hits home in this grill right here. It's not the lined grill that Lincoln has on a lot of cars on sale right now. Actually, it's a very upright grill with this sort of insert that actually in the patchwork has a lot of Lincoln's logos. Get around to the headlights here. They actually have laser assistance. So if you've ever wanted the day when cars had fricking laser beams, today is your day. Wheels, 21 inches in diameter and under the hood, Lincoln has an all new EcoBoost V6 engine with 3 liters. Now Lincoln insists that the continental concept signals an all new full-sized sedan that's coming in the 2016 calendar year and will be called the continental. So, we'll have to see how close that stays to this concept car you saw at the auto show. Stay tuned to cars.com to find out.
