2013-2014 Ford Fusion Hybrid, C-Max Hybrid Transmission Issue

The problem: The transfer shaft assembly bearing may fail prematurely. If this happens, thumping, rubbing or grinding noises may emanate from the transmission. Additionally, the check-engine light may illuminate due to a manufacturing fault in the transmission.
Vehicles affected by service bulletin:
- 2013 Ford Fusion Hybrid
- 2014 Ford Fusion Hybrid
- 2013 Ford C-Max Hybrid
- 2014 Ford C-Max Hybrid
Corrective action: Dealers will disassemble the transmission and repair or replace it depending on the extent of the damage.
Warranty info: This service is being performed free of charge under Ford’s new-car, powertrain or extended warranty, whichever applies.
