All-New 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe Gets Lower Starting Price

Hyundai may have found a winning formula with the new Santa Fe midsize SUV. The completely redesigned model will start at $20,945 for a front-wheel drive edition with manual transmission. That’s $750 less than the 2006 model.

Even the base GLS trim comes with standard dual front airbags, front seat side-impact airbags and side curtain airbags. All Santa Fes also come with electronic stability control, traction control, antilock brakes with brake assist and electronic brake-force distribution. Active head restraints and a tire pressure monitoring system are also included. That’s a lot of standard equipment stuffed into an affordable package. Hyundai even made it better-looking and beefed up the top engine to a 3.3-liter V-6 that produces 242 hp compared to just 200 hp in the previous model.

The new Santa Fe is aimed directly at potential Toyota RAV4 and Honda CR-V buyers. Shoppers can start comparing for themselves later this month when the Santa Fe reaches dealerships.
