Following a recent trend, Bank of America has joined green-thinking companies like Google and Timberland in giving a cash reward to employees who buy hybrids. Some of the 21,000 eligible employees who live within 90 miles of Boston, Charlotte and Los Angeles could find $3,000 coming their way. Google has only had 100 employees take it up on its offer, while only 19 Timberland employees did the same. But both of those companies’ entire staffs are only a fraction of the number of Bank of America’s eligible employees.
