CARS.COM —  Where better to show off winter project cars than Chicago in February? A Nissan teaser video hints that it will do that again at the 2018 Chicago Auto Show, this time with a 370Zki (pronounced “370-ski”).

Nissan has used the show before to unveil jacked-up versions of its vehicles on snow treads. And the tracks in the snow in the teaser video appear that Nissan has done it again, this time with the 370Zki project vehicle based on its 370Z sports car.

However, unlike the previous all-wheel-drive (all-tread-drive?) Juke Nismo RSnow in 2015 and the three Winter Warriors in 2016 (all-wheel-drive versions of the Rogue, Pathfinder and Murano), this project is based on a rear-wheel-drive car. That and the 370Zki name hint that we could see snow treads on the back and snowmobile-like skis steering up front.

Silly? Sure. But sounds like it could be fun. We hope Nissan also takes the opportunity to make some news about its plans for the 370Z — one of the last mainstream-priced sports cars but now almost a decade into its present form.
