Mega Millions. Megalodon. Megadeth. Using "mega" as a prefix just makes things sound bigger, better … and, just, badder. So the only question for pickup truck buyers is, "Why wouldn't I opt for the Mega Cab in the Ram 2500 or 3500?" Whoa, whoa, whoa, slow your roll there, Mega Man. There are benefits and drawbacks to this expansive heavy-duty-exclusive cab configuration — and if you're a smart shopper, you'll give those factors their due consideration before you drive one off the lot.

And if, indeed, you're just such a discriminating shopper, you'll definitely want to read our Brian Normile's handy-dandy breakdown of the differences between the Mega Cab and the crew cab in the Ram HDs, and how those differences translate to pluses and minuses. For example, those reclining rear seats in the Mega Cab are awfully enticing — but they come at the expense of bed length, as you can only get it in the 6-foot-4-inch bed versus the 8-foot bed you can get with other cab styles.

That comparo just so happens to have been our most popular news article for all of July, and you won't have to look far to find it sitting at No. 1 on this month's top 10. Because that HD truck life is a zero-sum game, where there's a winner, there also must be a loser. "Loser" in this case is a highly relative term, as our also-very-well-read story on the 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 2500/3500's 35,500-pound towing capacity had to settle for No. 2 on our list — despite being the max-towing title taker in the raging heavy-duty truck wars. Be sure to read our Aaron Bragman's story on the Silverado via the link below.

Rounding out July's top five is our test of the real-world gas mileage of the 2020 Ford Super Duty F-250 (which was surprisingly good) at No. 3, a recall of just 30 model-year 2019 Ram 1500s for an improperly labeled spare tire that could cause inflation confusion, and a comprehensive collection of everything truck shoppers might need to know before buying a 2019 Ford Ranger.

And July was a hotbed of pickup news, so there's much, much more. Here are the top 10 news stories PickupTrucks.com readers couldn't get enough of in the past month:
