Vehicle Overview In addition to the redesigned Range Rover, Land Rover is launching a Range Rover Sport for 2006 that was inspired by the Range Stormer concept seen at auto shows. The new Range Rover Sport model has a performance focus, while the regular Range Rover is viewed as the luxury edition.
The automaker says the Sport is the most aerodynamic Land Rover ever produced. Beneath its hood lurks an available 390-horsepower, supercharged 4.2-liter V-8. A normally aspirated 300-hp, 4.4-liter V-8 is also available. Both engines work with a six-speed-automatic transmission. Land Rover’s Terrain Response system is standard.
