2007 Detroit Auto Show: Nissan Bevel Concept

The Nissan Bevel concept is weird — plain weird. It kind of looks like the large Nissan Armada, mated with a panel van and a transformer. We won’t even quote the press release because it tells of potential buyers out there that we know don’t exist. You know — the surfing, biking, single, married, old, young, dude/dudette that would be perfect for just such a vehicle.

What is interesting about the Bevel? Why are we forcing you to check it out? Well, the roof features pucks. Yep, pucks — to store cargo bins with loads of up to 250 pounds. Then there’s the flexible interior. It reminds us of origami crossed with transformers at an Ikea. It’s doubtful the Bevel will ever come to life, but it wouldn’t be surprising to see Nissan eventually release a car-based crossover to replace the Armada, and some of the gadgets here could translate.
