- The month starts off with a major Faceoff between the Toyota Tundra, Chevy Silverado and Ford F-150.
- Trucks continue to be a theme at the 2007 Chicago Auto Show, where the 2008 Dodge Dakota and Nissan Titan debut, along with plenty of SUVs, crossovers and hatchbacks. But the unquestioned winner of the auto show is Pontiac’s muscular G8 sedan.
- Ford uses the Chicago show to resurrect the Ford Taurus and Mercury Sable names on existing cars.
- Mike Hanley and David Thomas take a break from auto show coverage to take a joy ride in International’s monstrous MXT.
- Honda promises a hybrid sports car concept. We’re totally excited, but 10 months later we still haven’t heard concrete word on the company’s next hybrid vehicle. Such a tease.
- We’re among the first to bring to light the problem blind people have with hybrids. We also get an early test of Volvo’s Blind Spot Information System. Loose tie there, we know.
- XM and Sirius Satellite Radio make things official.
- Deciphering and explaining the EPA’s tougher 2008 mileage tests begins. Maybe they should’ve used the Roadmaster Rear Deck Scrolling Digital Message System.
- Audi debuts its new A5 and S5 coupes online before they hit the Geneva Motor Show.
- Another one bites the dust: We find out the Chevy Monte Carlo only has four months to live.
