Vehicles Affected: Approximately 27,100 model-year 2010-14 Subaru Legacy sedans and Outback wagons equipped with manual transmissions

The Problem: The electronic parking brake may not engage as intended, allowing the vehicle to roll away if the transmission is not in the proper gear when parked, increasing the risk of a crash.

The Fix: Dealers will replace the electronic parking brake actuator assembly for free.

What Owners Should Do: Subaru will begin notifying owners Nov. 7. Owners can call the automaker at 844-373-6614, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236 or visit its website to check their vehicle identification number and learn more.
