Vehicle Overview The midsize Galant sedan is now offered only with four-cylinder power. It competes with the Chevrolet Malibu, Honda Accord and Toyota Camry.
New for 2010 The V-6 engine is gone, and EPA mileage ratings are up on the returning 2.4-liter four cylinder (by 1 mpg city, 3 mpg highway). An electronic stability system and MP3 jack are now standard.
Exterior The Galant’s wide grille now has a new silver-painted mesh design and is flanked by rectangular headlights.
Standard daytime running lights
Standard auto-off headlights
Optional power moonroof
Interior Inside, the Galant’s center control panel is busy-looking. A touch-screen navigation system is optional.
The Galant has room for up to five people on front bucket seats and a rear bench. For a midsize sedan, the Galant’s backseat is notably uncomfortable — the bottom cushion doesn’t provide much thigh support.
Standard manual air conditioning
Standard MP3 jack
Available navigation and backup camera package
Under the Hood The front-drive Galant now comes with one powertrain, a 2.4-liter four-cylinder teamed with a four-speed automatic.
