Looks like: The new 5 Series lost a couple of doors
Defining characteristics: Skinny dual exhausts on an otherwise overweight design
Ridiculous features: An interior design that mimics Lexus’ RX
Chance of being mass-produced: This is undoubtedly what the next 6 Series will look like
Overall, it looks exactly like the next 6 Series should, mimicking the recently redesigned 5 Series sedan and the 7 Series, while still laid out in the classic 2+2 coupe style. However, the bulging hood is a bit odd, as are the fully LED headlights. The overall effect from a head-on standpoint reminds us a bit of a Dodge Charger.
The rest of the design, though, is BMW through and through, and the rear looks more like the X6 SUV than any of the brand’s other cars. It looks to get the lava-like taillights, as well.
The interior almost looks production ready, with extravagant two-tone leather appointments throughout the cabin. The LCD screen for the iDrive system pops out from the dash, while current BMWs try to integrate it under a cowl beneath the top of the dashboard. There are also images of a high-end sound system with tweeters that appear to pop up out of the dash, much like Audi’s high-end Bang & Olufsen system.
