2011-2012 Kia Sportage: Recall Alert

Vehicles Affected: Approximately 32,000 model-year 2011-12 Kia Sportage SUVs

The Problem: The engine oil pan may leak. If not addressed, the loss of oil may result in engine damage that can increase the risk of a fire or cause an engine stall, increasing the risk of a crash.

The Fix: The remedy for this issue is still under development. 

What Owners Should Do: Kia will begin notifying owners April 10. Owners can call the automaker at 800-333-4542, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236 or visit its website check their vehicle identification number and learn more.
