The Nissan Versa will remain the cheapest new car on the market for the 2011 model year with a starting price of $9,990 for the 1.6 base model. That’s just squeaking in below the $10K mark until you consider the $750 destination fee.
Of course, as soon as you start looking for small creature comforts that price will go up: all the way to $16,900 for the 1.8 SL CVT hatchback. The 1.6 base doesn’t have antilock brakes.
The 2010 Versa (pictured above) is doing well, though, easily outselling compact competitors such as the Honda Fit and Toyota Yaris last month.
