If there were a “when pigs fly” moment for the car industry it would be “when GM makes a good small car.” This often held belief softened with the 2011 Chevrolet Cruze and, judging from first appearances, the 2012 Chevrolet Sonic might be a strong competitor versus its subcompact competition too. The styling works better on the sedan, than it does on the hatchback, according to Cars.com editor Joe Bruzek, and there are a few gripes with the interior. Still, the Sonic might finally silence GM naysayers…when pigs fly.
