To create the family-friendly 2012 Toyota Prius v, the automaker took its well-liked Prius and increased the space in the cargo area and the second row. For Cars.com Family reviewer BreAnn Ahara, a 2008 Prius owner, this extra room made the Prius v an excellent vehicle for her family of four. The Prius v’s fuel economy numbers take a hit, though. It gets 44/40 mpg city/highway, which is lower than the regular Prius’ 51/48 mpg.
