The price changes make the Avenger and 200 the most affordable midsize sedans on the market today, beating out value leaders like the Suzuki Kizashi ($18,999), Ford Fusion ($19,850) and Kia Optima ($19,200).

The Journey is now one of the most affordable midsize crossovers on the market, too, beating competitors like the Kia Sorento ($21,250) and Mazda CX-7 ($21,990). The Subaru Forester still beats the Journey, though, with its $20,495 entry price.

For 2012, the Avenger gets all-new trim designations that are more akin to the 2009 model year: SE, SXT, SXT Plus and R/T. The R/T trim was unveiled last spring.

The Chrysler 200 comes in LX, Touring, Limited and S trim levels.

The base Avenger SE and 200 LX come with features that include air conditioning, cruise control, steering-wheel-mounted controls and power mirrors, locks and windows. The base 200 has a few more sweeteners such as standard heated mirrors, according to Cars.com’s research specifications.

The Journey also gets new trim designations for the 2012 model year. Gone is the cacophony of lifestyle-based trims, now replaced with just SE, SXT and Crew models.

The base SE trim comes with heated power mirrors, cruise control, air conditioning, six-speaker stereo and five-seat passenger seating. You can add the third row for $995. The SE is the only Journey to come with a four-cylinder powertrain, which is mated to a four-speed automatic transmission. The other trims come with a 283-horsepower V-6 and six-speed automatic transmission standard.

All three models have listings up on Cars.com, which is a good indicator that the models are — or are about to — go on sale.
