A new options package is the Sport and Speed Pack. Performance enhancements include an aerodynamic splitter underneath the front bumper and a rear lip spoiler — minor stuff, but Jaguar says it was enough for it to change the speed limiter’s top speed from 155 mph to 174 mph for the trim package. A black mesh finish to the grille and lower intake, red-painted brake calipers and special 20-inch wheels are also added to the exterior. The package is available on the XJ Supersport and the XJ Supercharged trims.

Other changes include the addition of winged-head restraints, footrests and the ability to flip forward the front passenger seat when unoccupied to increase rear-seat room on the Rear Comfort Pack for the XJL Supersport. The rear seat now has a power recline function on the Rear Comfort Pack, too.

There are other enhancements, including trays to hold laptops, new wood veneers, upgraded carpeting and new upholstery color combinations, depending on the feature package.

The 2012 Jaguar XJ is already on sale with prices from $73,700 (up $1,000 from 2011) for a base XJ to $117,700 (up $4,500 from 2011) for a XJL Supersport.
