With bold styling, impressive ride quality and affordable prices, Cars.com reviewer Joe Wiesenfelder said the 2013 Dodge Charger charges to the front of the large-car class. Wiesenfelder tested an all-wheel-drive Charger R/T and found it took a backseat only to the newly redesigned 2014 Chevrolet Impala; the Charger was redesigned in 2011 and added new powertrains the following year, but remains relatively the same for 2013.

The all-wheel-drive R/T’s 5.7-liter V-8 is good for 370 horsepower, 395 pounds-feet of torque and a zero-to-60 mph time of less than 5.4 seconds; it’s mated to a five-speed automatic transmission and gets an estimated fuel economy of 15/23 city/highway. It starts at $33,490, including a $995 destination charge. The Charger is also available in trims including the rear-wheel-drive SE, rear- or all-wheel-drive SXT, and SRT8 and SRT8 Superbee, both of which are rear-wheel drive. The Charger’s starting price tops out at $46,445 for the SRT8, including destination.

Among option packages offered on the Charger are the $4,000 Customer Preferred Package, which includes steering-wheel-mounted paddles shifters, Sport driving mode, a black grille with black honeycomb, heated second-row seats, a heated-and-cooled front-console cupholder, a power tilt/telescoping steering wheel and driver/passenger four-way lumbar adjustments. Others include the $995 Driver Confidence Group, which adds rear parking assist, a backup camera, blind spot and cross-traffic monitoring, rain-sensitive windshield wipers and automatic high-beam control; the $995 Navigation/Rear Back-Up Camera Group with the Uconnect multimedia system; the $925 Adaptive Cruise Control Group with forward collision warning and a heated steering wheel; the $400 Super Track Pak with performance tires and steering and a sport suspension; and an $840 power sunroof.
