When the redesigned 2013 Lexus GS 450h goes on sale in May, it will start at $58,950, excluding an $875 destination fee.
The new Lexus GS hybrid is priced identically to the 2011 Lexus GS 450h model, despite having more standard features. The 2013 GS 450h is also significantly more fuel efficient than the previous model, at 29/34/31 mpg city/highway/combined, though the model is slower. Still, the 2013 GS 450h is plenty quick, with a zero to 60 mph time of 5.6 seconds.
The Lexus GS hybrid comes standard with exterior features like 17-inch alloy wheels, LED daytime running lights, LED low-beam headlights with headlamp washers, LED taillights and turn signals, automatic headlights, moonroof, rain-sensing wipers and a passive keyless entry system. Interior features include push-button start, a 12-speaker audio system, a bamboo and leather heated steering wheel, heated/ventilated front seats, leather upholstery, LED ambient lighting and an 8-inch display with Lexus’ multimedia interface. Options include a head-up display, blind spot warning system, heated rear seats, a night vision system and 12.3-inch center console screen with navigation, among other features.
The slightly revised 2013 Lexus RX 350 starts at $39,310, excluding an $875 destination fee. The nominal increase (about $235 from 2012) gets you a slightly restyled front end — now featuring LED daytime running lights standard — and a sportier looking steering wheel, among other minor changes. The 2013 RX 450h starts at $45,910, which is a $675 increase from last year’s model.
The new, top-of-the-line RX 350 F Sport trim is priced at $47,000 and includes features like an eight-speed automatic transmission and differentiated F Sport exterior and interior trim.
The updated RX goes on sale this month.
Lexus also announced a minor price increase for the 2012 IS 250, which is already on sale. All versions of the car now cost $200 more, giving the model a starting price of $33,595, effective this May.
