The full-size Chevrolet Tahoe/Suburban, GMC Yukon/Yukon XL and Cadillac Escalade will have abbreviated 2014 model-year production because redesigned models based on GM’s new large pickups are scheduled to arrive next spring as 2015 models.

Note that the redesigned 2014 Chevrolet Silverado/GMC Sierra aren’t available as hybrids, and that GM dropped the slow-selling hybrid versions of the 2014 Escalade, Tahoe and Yukon.

What seemed like a good idea some years back didn’t catch on, and some industry observers expect GM in the future will offer diesel engines in its light-duty large pickup trucks and SUVs instead of hybrid technology.
