Jaguar’s flagship sedan, the five-seat XJ, has exterior and interior design cues in the style of the XF sedan. The long-wheelbase XJL has five inches of extra rear legroom. The XJ competes in the full-size luxury class with the Audi A8, BMW 7 Series, Lexus LS 460 and Mercedes-Benz S-Class. New for 2014 A high-performance XJR model replaces the XJ Supersport and is powered by a 550-horsepower, supercharged V-8 engine. The normally aspirated V-8 engine has been dropped.
Other changes include standard soft-close doors, enhancements to the available front-seat massage feature and a newly available 26-speaker Meridian premium stereo. The stereo uses microphones to amplify passengers’ voices to make conversation in the car easier. A new rear-seat entertainment system and new reclining, massaging rear seats are also available.
