Rest assured Ford F-150 faithful, the 2015 version of the beloved pickup truck is all new, but the exterior design remains a sufficiently familiar face. In front, the F-150 retains its signature grille shape, while headlights have a distinctive “light-pipe” surround of either full LED headlights or standard halogen projector beams. Rounded corners and a more aerodynamic windshield improve airflow around the truck, as do automatic grille shutters behind the chrome.
The new F-150’s lowered belt line and window drop-down cutouts in the front doors improve visibility from inside the cab, as well as liftover height into the bed. The rear of the truck features standard LED taillights and light piping similar to that adorning the headlights. LED accents also illuminate the cargo area.
Among the most significant F-150 updates is the new high-quality interior. Gone is the previous hard-plastic look and feel in favor of soft-touch plastics, along with paddle-style door handles and improved display screens and controls. A massive panoramic sunroof on higher trims bathes the inside in natural light, while a widened cab moves seating outward for a wider center console. Top trims also boast leather seats, sophisticated stitching on the dashboard, and real wood and metal trim.
