We’re one long commute away from hitting 4,000 miles on Cars.com’s long-term 2015 Mercedes-Benz C300 test car, and it’s been 4,000 miles of smooth sailing. A set of durable all-season floormats and premium fuel are the only costs accumulated so far. The Benz’s first scheduled maintenance, called Service A, doesn’t roll around until 12 months or 10,000 miles.

Service A includes a number of system checks as well as an oil and filter change. Our car’s maintenance reminder system in the center dashboard shows 6,200 miles until Service A is needed. Mercedes doesn’t include complimentary maintenance like BMW’s four years/50,000 miles of oil changes, brakes and wiper refills, so the Benz’s first service will cost $199 at our local dealership.
