Vehicles Affected: Approximately 1,000 model-year 2016-17 Toyota 4Runner SUVs equipped with the TForce accessory package

The Problem: The fasteners for the aftermarket roof rack may have been improperly tightened, which may cause them to loosen and detach, increasing the risk of a crash.

The Fix: Dealers will inspect and tighten the roof rack fasteners, as necessary, for free.

What Owners Should Do: Gulf States Toyota will begin notifying owners June 1. Owners can call Gulf States at 800-444-1074, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236 or visit www.safercar.gov to check their vehicle identification number and learn more.
