2016-2019 Mercedes-Benz, Mercedes-AMG GLC: Recall Alert
Vehicles Affected: Approximately 121,800 model-year 2016-19 Mercedes-Benz GLC300 4Matic, model-year 2016-18 GLC300 and model-year 2018-19 GLC350e 4Matic SUVs; and model-year 2017-19 Mercedes-AMG GLC43 and model-year 2018 GLC63 4Matic SUVs
The Problem: The seat belt Latch plates that insert into the buckles for the outboard rear seats may retract into the interior paneling, preventing the occupants from being able to use the seat belts and increasing the risk of injury in a crash.
The Fix: Dealers will install a buffer to the C-pillar paneling for free.
What Owners Should Do: Mercedes-Benz will begin notifying owners May 14. Owners can call the automaker at 800-367-6372, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236 or visit its website to check their vehicle identification number and learn more.
