CARS.COM — With a base price of $34,855, the 2016 Infiniti Q50 sedan will start at $3,200 less than the 2015 model, but prices on the 2016 Q50 Hybrid will jump by $2,650 to $2,850 because of additional standard equipment.
The base Q50 is now the rear-wheel-drive 2.0t model, which comes with a new 208-horsepower, turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine mated to a seven-speed automatic transmission. The $34,855 base price includes the $905 destination charge. Last year’s base Q50 came with a 3.7-liter V-6 engine and was priced at $38,055, including a destination fee.
The all-wheel-drive 2.0t model will start at $36,855. New for 2016 on both 2.0t models is standard start-stop technology.
With the new 2.0-liter, the Q50 joins competitors such as the Audi A4, BMW 3 Series and Mercedes-Benz C-Class in making a turbocharged four-cylinder the base engine.
The Q50 Hybrid now comes only in the Premium trim level (last year’s Sport trim is gone), and the starting price for a rear-drive model is $47,955, up from $45,305 on the 2015 model. The all-wheel-drive Q50 Hybrid starts at $49,955, up from $47,105 last year. Standard equipment has been expanded to include 19-inch alloy wheels, forward collision and blind spot warning systems, backup collision intervention, moving object detection and a surround-view monitor.
