Both models feature turbocharged engines — the G63 AMG a V-8 and the G65 AMG a V-12 — that are hand built. Other changes include a sport exhaust system, high-performance brakes and unique styling cues.

Here’s info on the regular G-Class:
Mercedes-Benz focuses largely on road-going manners with its GLE-Class SUV, but the G-Class is a hard-core off-road machine that seats five people across two rows. It competes with the Land Rover Range Rover. High-performance AMG variants also are available.
New for 2016 Mercedes offers a new G65 AMG performance model that’s powered by a handcrafted turbocharged V-12 engine, and the base G550 gets a new turbocharged 4.0-liter V-8 that makes 416 hp. An adaptive suspension is now available for the G550.
