CARS.COM

Vehicles Affected: Approximately 193 model-year 2017 Acura MDX Sport Hybrid SUVs

The Problem: The engine fuel-feed hose and fuel-purge hose may have been misrouted during vehicle assembly, which could cause damage from contact with other components due to engine vibration; this could result in a fuel leak, possibly increasing the risk of a fire in the presence of an ignition source.

Acura said in a statement that it discovered the issue through internal quality checks at the factory and that no customer complaints or fuel hose failures have been reported.

The Fix: Dealers will inspect the routing of the fuel-feed hose and fuel-purge hose and, if misrouted, replace and install them correctly for free.

What Owners Should Do: Acura did not immediately announce an owner-notification schedule but said that it would attempt to contact affected owners by phone to schedule inspections. Owners can call the automaker at 888-234-2138, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236 or visit www.safercar.gov to check their vehicle identification number and learn more.
