The 2017 Ford Escape bowed today at the 2015 Los Angeles Auto Show, appearing just as we’d expected based on earlier images of the compact SUV. One of our reviewers had previously remarked that the new front-end styling of the Escape, with its trapezoidal grille and bladed inserts, seemingly resembled the mug of Subaru’s Outback wagon. Still does.
As for the SUV’s profile and rear views, if you’ve seen the previous version of the Escape, you’ve more or less seen this one. Ford reportedly focused most of its attention on powertrain updates and interior features like the new Sync Connect system, which uses a smartphone app to control varied vehicle functions remotely. The interior of the Escape we saw in L.A. wears a dark- and light-gray color scheme, bolstered front seats and a wrapped steering wheel with decorative stitching.
