2017 Ford F-150, Explorer and Super Duty: Recall Alert

Vehicles Affected: Approximately 2,200 model-year 2017 Ford F-150 pickup trucks built at the Dearborn Truck Plant between Dec. 11 and Dec. 16, 2016, and at the Kansas City Assembly Plant between Dec. 8 and Dec. 9, 2016; model-year 2017 Super Duty pickups built at the Kentucky Truck Plant between Dec. 19, 2016, and Jan. 19, 2017; and model-year 2017 Ford Explorer SUVs built at the Chicago Assembly Plant between Dec. 9 and Dec. 10, 2016
The Problem: An inadequate weld between the driver seatback and the seatback recliner may not adequately restrain an occupant in a crash, increasing the risk of injury. Ford said it is not aware of any accidents or injuries associated with this issue.
The Fix: Dealers will inspect and replace the driver seatback frame, as necessary, for free.
