CARS.COM — Don’t adjust your monitors, folks. The year isn’t 2014, the place isn’t the New York International Auto Show, and this isn’t the Land Rover Discovery Vision Concept. The 2017 Land RoverDiscovery makes its North American debut at the 2016 Los Angeles Auto Show looking remarkably similar to the 2014 concept. The stepped roofline hints at the room inside this three-row SUV, and in back is an asymmetrical tailgate that’s a throwback to earlier Discovery models. The big SUV can have a maximum 11.1 inches of ground clearance and will almost certainly be up to the off-road standard set by its predecessors.
The interior looks much like Land Rover’s Range Rover models, including a large center console that divides the dashboard. On the center console are Land Rover’s usual rotary shifter and terrain-mode dial. The roof is dominated by three large glass panels, and the panel over the front seats is a moonroof. The second- and third-row seats are power-foldable and can be controlled by the driver from the front seat, limiting the amount of manual labor one must perform while configuring the interior.
