2017 Mercedes-AMG C63 Coupe Revealed
Last week we saw what the all-new 2017 Mercedes-Benz C-Class two-door for the masses will look like; today we get a look at the AMG 63 version. It comes out next summer with the same 4.0-liter twin-turbo V-8 the sedan version sports under the hood but obviously has, you know, two less doors.

The power may be the same at 469 horsepower for the base AMG C63 and 503 hp for the AMG C63 S, but Mercedes says zero-to-60 times are improved at 3.9 seconds and 3.8 seconds respectively. Mercedes lists the four-door version at 4.0 and 3.9 seconds respectively. The two-door also weighs 86 pounds less. Tires are wider on the coupe for improved traction.
It’s all controlled by a seven-speed transmission with the prerequisite paddle shifters for manually changing gears and four different modes. An adjustable electronic suspension offers three different settings between Comfort and Sport. The limited-slip differential also has a three-stage electronic stability system for fully on, a “Sport Handling mode” and fully off. Drivers can also adjust the exhaust system when changing drive modes. And if they choose an optional performance exhaust system they can change the exhaust note with a separate button no matter what drive mode is selected.
There are of course some nice aesthetic touches for a full AMG model with some of the exterior additions adding to the overall performance in terms of aerodynamics.
Pricing will be released closer to the on-sale date next year, but we expect to see prices similar to previous years.
