2017 Mercedes-AMG GLC43 Review: Photo Gallery

CARS.COM — The 2017 Mercedes-AMG GLC43 may be Mercedes-Benz’s solution to the Goldilocks principle: The GLC 300 is luxurious and comfortable but doesn’t offer a spirited driving experience, and the recently revealed 2018 GLC63 promises to offer perhaps too much performance (wait, is there such a thing?). The GLC43 fits nicely in between with its just-right blend of luxury and power.

Providing the oomph to get this SUV moving is a twin-turbo 3.0-liter V-6 that’s rated at 362 horsepower and 384 pounds-feet of torque. That’s enough to get the kids to soccer practice in a hurry without worrying about giving them whiplash in the process.

The V-6 sends power through a nine-speed automatic transmission to an all-wheel-drive system that’s biased toward the rear wheels. Our tester had optional 21-inch wheels wrapped in summer tires.

Inside, you’ll find high-quality materials throughout the cabin: Aluminum trim is standard, but the carbon fiber in our tester is optional. The front bucket seats are trimmed in simulated leather and suede, but their ability to hold you comfortably through tight corners is 100 percent real.
