CARS.COM — Nissan’s refreshed 2017 Pathfinder SUV will start at $30,890, including destination, less than $200 more than the outgoing model. The three-row SUV features revised front and rear styling, a more powerful engine, a retuned suspension, updated electronic technology and a slick new multimedia system. Four trim levels are available, with front-wheel drive coming standard and all-wheel drive an option across the board.
The trim level breakdown for 2017 is (all prices include destination):
S two-wheel drive, $30,890
S four-wheel drive, $32,580
SV two-wheel drive, $33,580
SV four-wheel drive, $35,270
SL two-wheel drive, $36,600
SL four-wheel drive, $38,290
Platinum two-wheel drive, $42,770
Platinum four-wheel drive, $44,460
The pricing strategy, safety equipment and innovative three-row seating technology put it in solid standing versus competitors like the Ford Explorer, Toyota Highlander, Dodge Durango, Mazda CX-9 and Honda Pilot, but its lack of more fuel-efficient powertrain options (Nissan offers only one engine, a big V-6) may continue to make sales a challenge.
The new Pathfinder goes on sale this week at dealerships around the country.
