What it is: The five-seat Tiguan is Volkswagen’s answer to the Honda CR-V and Toyota RAV4 compact SUVs. It’s powered by a turbocharged four-cylinder engine and is available with front- or all-wheel drive.
New for 2017

The base S model gains Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, which mirrors select smartphone apps on the dashboard touch-screen. The new Wolfsburg trim level replaces the R-Line and includes a panoramic moonroof and Wolfsburg Edition badges and floormats. The Sport trim level replaces the SE and features 18-inch alloy wheels, body color side sills, black mirror caps, a sport suspension and dual-zone automatic climate control.
