Trim-specific pricing for the 2018 Civic hatchback follows:
- LX: $20,775
- Sport: $22,375
- EX: $23,875
- EX-L with Navigation: $26,375
- Sport Touring: $29,375
LX and Sport hatchbacks have a standard six-speed manual transmission; a continuously variable automatic transmission is an extra $800. Both transmissions work with a turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder, which is the engine that goes in all versions of the four-door hatch apart from the high-performance Civic Type R.
EX and higher trim levels get a 7-inch touchscreen multimedia system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration. The Honda Sensing suite of active safety features is a $1,000 option (standard on the Sport Touring trim) and includes forward collision warning with automatic braking, lane-keeping assist, lane departure warning and adaptive cruise control with low-speed follow.
The compact hatchback segment has seen a resurgence the past few years. New models like the Chevrolet Cruze hatchback and hybrid Kia Niro have joined established competitors like the Ford Focus hatchback, Mazda3 hatchback and Volkswagen Golf. Now in its second year in this form, the 2018 Civic hatchback remains geared toward enthusiast drivers.
