2018 Kia Stinger GT Drifting: Photo Gallery

CARS.COM — With a 365-horsepower, twin-turbocharged V-6 engine, rear-wheel drive and a limited-slip differential, the 2018 Kia Stinger GT is apparently a drifting machine. Kia recently showed off the sports car’s sideways chops at the 2017 Specialty Equipment Market Association Show in Las Vegas.

Watching the Stinger GT drift in a melodic sequence around an empty parking lot was certainly an interesting way for many onlookers to be introduced to the Kia Stinger, an all-new model from Kia. Add in two other Stinger GTs wheeled by drift pros drifting side by side by side, and you get a Las Vegas show appropriate for kids of all ages.

The Stinger GT is the more-powerful of the two Stingers; the entry-level version comes with a turbocharged four-cylinder engine making 255 hp. The more-expensive turbocharged V-6 GT boosts power to 365 hp. The four-cylinder Stinger starts at $32,795, and the GT at $39,895 (prices include a destination charge). Both engines pair with an eight-speed automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive standard, while all-wheel drive is optional.

These Stinger GT drift cars had options you can’t choose from the factory — namely a hydraulic handbrake to induce a sideways smoke show, and a professional driver who should be on the “not included in base price” disclaimer.
