2022 Subaru Outback Wilderness Price Starts Just Over $38,000
The recently announced 2022 Subaru Outback Wilderness — a more off-road oriented version of Subaru’s popular Outback wagon-SUV tweener — will not be the most expensive 2022 Outback you can buy, though it’s close. Including destination fees, the Outback Wilderness will cost $38,120 — less than both the Limited XT and Touring XT trims. Subaru also released pricing for the rest of its 2022 Outback and Legacy lineups, which see modest price increases.

Shop the 2021 Subaru Outback near you
Both the Legacy and Outback come standard with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine paired to a continuously variable automatic transmission, and higher XT trims of both cars — as well as the Outback Wilderness — swap out the 2.5-liter for a turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder. Both also come standard with all-wheel drive.
All prices below include destination fees, which have increased for both cars. The Outback’s rises to $1,125 from $1,050 while the Legacy’s jumps to $960 from $925. Most Outback models’ prices increase by only $75, with the base and Premium having slightly larger price jumps for 2022. For the Legacy, the story is similar, although the Sport trim increases substantially because it adds blind spot monitoring, reverse automatic emergency braking and a power moonroof as standard equipment for 2022.
